Neuroanatomy Operative Approaches Part I (One)
A two day cadaveric dissection couse aimed at Year 1 to 3 Neurosurgical Trainees. This course is designed to give the trainees the opportunity to understand the anatomy of commonly used cranial operative approaches (one cadaver per two delgates) under the supervision of Consultant Neurosurgeons.
The couse is spread over two days. The first day covers approaches to the supra-tentorial compartment followed by approaches to the posterior fossa on the second day. The cost of the course is £400. (Cheques made payable to Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust)
This course will be run on September 11th and 12th 2008, the timetable is as follows:-
Day 1
08.00 to 08.30 - Registration & Coffee
08.30 to 09.00 - Pterional craniotomy
09.00 to 11.00 - Dissection
11.00 to 11.15 - Coffee
11.15 to 11.45 - Midline inter-hemishperic approach
11.45 to 13.30 - Disssection
13.30 to 14.30 - Lunch
14.30 to 15.00 - Anterior frontal approach
15.00 to 17.00 - Dissection
Day 2
08.00 to 08.30 - Registration & Coffee
08.30 to 09.00 - Sub-temporal approach
09.00 to 11.00 - Dissection
11.00 to 11.15 - Coffee
11.15 to 11.45 - Retro-sigmoid approach
11.45 to 13.30 - Disssection
13.30 to 14.30 - Lunch
14.30 to 15.00 - Midline posterior approach
15.00 to 17.00 - Dissection
